What's new in Ages! Version 2.0 ?

Lots of things have changed in Ages! 2.0 , this is just a quick glimpse at what's different.

Improved User Interface and Data Entry

Redesigned Menu
For the first time, all Ages! commands are now integrated into one location: The Ribbon. Many commands can now be accessed with less clicks than before.

Accented and Other Special Characters (Unicode)
Ages! is now capable of handling the full Windows character set. This allows entry of accented characters as well as greek, cyrillic or chinese.

Person Window Overhaul
Less cluttered, more functionality: Editing a person's data is now easier then ever before. By the way: You can now tell which kids have offspring - they now show an extra arrow.

Extended Name Dialog
Ages! now has extra fields for additional name parts - very handy for nobility titles as well as finally having a place for that "jr."

Integration of Google Maps
Apart from the internal map, you can now show locations on Google Maps - provided you are connected to the internet.

New Search Options
Searching for people is as easy as ever, but now has more options for complex searches.

Improved GEDCOM support
Ages! now supports more GEDCOM structures and tags than ever. This makes sharing data between programs and genealogists a breeze.

Support for JPEG Metadata
If your JPEG pictures have metadata, you can now easily access those from within Ages! . You can see their date, author and title as well as see the location on a map where that photo was taken.

Improved Output in 2.0

Wizards
Ages! makes it easy to find the right chart and report. Just flip through six chart formats, 16 reports and three types of books.

Favorites
Any output can now stored as "Favorite", and reopened with just two clicks of your mouse.

Ahnentafel and Register Report
Ages! now includes reports in natural language. If you want to show your research to somebody, they'll have an easier time understanding "He was born on 03/01/2000" than "b. 03/01/2000"

Books
You can now combine multiple reports to form a book, complete with table of contents and continuous page numbering.

Improved Calculations and Conditional Formatting
Excel-like expressions now offer more individual reports and charts than ever before.

Apart from these major changes there is a huge number of smaller details that have been changed, new functions and bug fixes.
